It all began with a simple idea fueled by a desire to try to develop a early warning system to help alert people to potential dangers when changing Lithium ion batteries. Nearly every day I heard of fires caused by Lithium ion batteries resulting in property damage and sometimes death. Fire Services in each state report that they attend Lithium ion battery fires almost daily. 
It should be noted that all existing safety requirements (see above) should be followed. This system gives a extra layer of protection to the charging process. It does not replace existing safety requirements.

A customer installed the system and was alerted to a problem with a charging process which shut down the system, and alarm was activated and message sent to their phone. The problem was an incompatibility charger. The system most likely saved the property from a catastrophic fire.
